ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company’s (EMRE), is the research and engineering arm of Exxon Mobil Corporation, a leading global oil, natural gas, and petrochemicals company whose subsidiaries have operations in six continents. G2X Energy leverages EMRE’s Methanol-to-Gasoline (MTG) process to convert methanol into 87-octane gasoline. This MTG process was developed in the 1970’s and later commercialized during 1985 with the launch of 14,500 barrel per day MTG plant in New Zealand. The New Zealand facility was reliably operated demonstrating an on stream factor greater that 96%. Gasoline produced by the MTG process is fully compatible with conventional refinery gasoline, so it can be either blended with conventional refinery gasoline or sold separately with no further processing.
